Sometimes called a “spider cage” or “monkey cage,” these devices provide the child and therapist flexibility and freedom to work on a variety of functional skills. Pulley systems can be added with weights to work on targeted training of specific muscle groups for strengthening. Children are motivated to watch their repetitions and strength increase each week. Another way these devices can be used is with a belt that attaches to a bungee system that provides children the ability to work on balance activities and functional movements with proper form.
