Volunteer Involvement
Special Learning Center is grateful for the wonderful volunteers who help our agency on a regular or one-time basis. From playing the piano for group music or baking cookies, to helping in the classrooms or on field trips, our volunteers provide valuable support to our children and our staff.
Our volunteers come to us from a variety of places. Some are individuals in the community who are interested and willing to offer their time and talents. Some are participants in the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce Business/Education partnership program or United Way supported events such as Day of Caring or the United Way at Work Program. Still others are completing Christian or A+ service hours through their high school, or are obtaining valuable career experience by completing a therapy rotation or practicum placement.
**SLC is currently recruiting volunteers to help with our Summer Camp! Come join the fun! Click here for more information or email jwright@speciallearningcenter.com.

Community Involvement
Through field trips, United Way-sponsored activities, and interaction with local businesses and civic organizations, Special Learning Center is very involved and visible in the community. Interacting with the community gives the children experiences that will help them through life. The outings also help people in the community learn about our agency and see the recipients of their contributions.
Special Learning Center continuously benefits from the generosity of many businesses and organizations that graciously support the agency by:
- Helping with special projects or events
- Purchasing necessary supplies and/or equipment for the program
- Hosting special holiday parties
- Providing gifts for the children at Christmas
- Computer support
