Enhancing the well-being and development of the children we serve by providing meals that are low in preservatives and free from artificial dyes, with a focus on fresh, natural ingredients.
At Special Learning Center (SLC), we are dedicated to enhancing the well-being and development of the children we serve through specialized therapy, education, and development. As part of our commitment to providing exceptional care, we are thrilled to introduce our new “Nourishing Roots” program, a transformative initiative focused on delivering the highest quality nutrition for the children we serve.
WHY NUTRITION MATTERS
Research shows that artificial dyes and preservatives can negatively affect children’s cognitive development and behavior. Studies have linked artificial food colorings and certain preservatives to hyperactivity, mood swings, and attention difficulties in children. For children with developmental disabilities, who may already face challenges in these areas, the impact can be even greater. We are committed to supporting healthy growth by eliminating unnecessary additives from our meals, empowering children to focus, learn, and develop in the best way possible.
FUELING POTENTIAL THROUGH NUTRITION
Our Nourishing Roots Program is more than just a meal plan—it’s a commitment to our children’s futures. By focusing on wholesome, natural ingredients, we’re giving children the best start in their cognitive, physical, and emotional development. Each meal we serve is carefully crafted to be nutrient-rich and supportive of optimal brain function, helping every child reach their full potential.
