Special Learning Center provides specialized childcare for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years of age. The childcare program is licensed by the State of Missouri to serve 42 children. Though our center provides care to children with varying abilities, due to space limitations, we are currently only accepting children with a diagnosed developmental delay or disability as well as the siblings of children with special needs, children in foster care or children related to an SLC staff member or volunteer.

Our childcare program provides a quality play-based educational experience with child-centered learning that honors small class sizes and low student-teacher ratios. The specialized childcare team is trained to provide the children with warm, responsive interactions, supportive environments, and prioritizes personalized learning.

Our Philosophy: We believe that the foundation of quality childcare is built upon consistency, warmth, and support. Children grow and learn best in a safe environment that provides opportunities to explore, play, create and communicate with other children and adults. By guiding the children to regulate emotions and behaviors, we lay the groundwork for children to develop the positive self-regulation skills needed as they learn and grow.
