At the Special Learning Center, our teachers as well as our speech, occupational and physical therapists are certified, licensed and registered in their respective fields and provide services to children in a variety of environments:
Teachers and Therapists work one-on-one with children who attend the center-based program at the Special Learning Center or come to the Center for outpatient services.
Group therapy is incorporated into classroom sessions and has proven to be effective in improving the skills of children with and without disabilities.
Our teachers and therapists also conduct therapy sessions at children’s homes, childcare facilities or other settings as determined in the students’ individual plans. These sessions, conducted in the child’s natural environment, also enable the therapists to discuss and demonstrate appropriate activities for the child’s caregiver.
